Brushing your teeth is not just a chore, it gives you a fresh breath and a whiter healthy smile. Spending 2 minutes a day on brushing, helps you removing plaque that sticks to your teeth and prevent from cavities and gum diseases.
Which brush to use?
Brush your teeth daily with the soft bristle toothbrush that fits your mouth aren’t allowed to reach accessible areas easily.
You need to replace your toothbrush 3 to 4 months or earlier if the bristles are frayed. You can use an electric toothbrush if you are a lazy brusher or when you find brushing difficult.
What is the proper Brushing technique?
Squeeze a pea size fluoridated toothpaste onto your wet toothbrush. You can divide your mouth four sections: Top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right. You need to spend 30 seconds on each section, this gives you 2 minutes of brushing time.
You get bored, you can try brushing while watching television on listening to song of your choice. Try to brush your teeth for the duration of an entire song.
Set your brush bristles at 45° show the gum line. Start gentle brushing in short circular motion. Gently move the brush back and forth in small strokes. All the surfaces- outer, inner and chewing surfaces of the teeth.
To clean your back teeth position your toothbrush perpendicular to your lips show that the bristles are resting on your back teeth. People Always forget to brush inside of lower front teeth. To clean the inner surfaces front teeth change the brush vertically and make up and down strokes.
Make sure to clean your tongue either using the bristles of your toothbrush or a tongue cleaner. Don’t press it too hard otherwise you may damage the tissues.
Rinse the toothbrush under running water and your mouth.
